Maria Elisa Ayerbe, Erika Ender and Luana Pagani will serve as founding mentors of the newly created Leading Ladies of Entertainment Connect TogetHER
MIAMI (APRIL 12, 2022) — The Latin Recording Academy® has initiated the Leading Ladies of Entertainment Connect TogetHER mentorship program that was unveiled last year, in partnership with She Is The Music, a global nonprofit that works to increase the number of women in music.
Latin GRAMMY®-winning sound engineer Maria Elisa Ayerbe, GRAMMY® nominee and Latin GRAMMY-winning composer Erika Ender, and Seitrack U.S. Partner and President Luana Pagani will be the founding mentors of this collaborative program, which will provide one-on-one virtual mentoring sessions with young women looking to follow a career in the music and entertainment industries. The founding mentors will begin their work by paying it forward at a special inaugural panel moderated by Sigal Ratner-Arias, Spanish Entertainment Editor at The Associated Press. For more information on the panel, which will be held virtually on Thursday, April 14, 2022, please click here.
“I am very proud to see our Leading Ladies of Entertainment franchise continue to grow and thrive through this hands-on educational program aimed at closing the gender gap within the music industry,” said Manuel Abud, CEO of The Latin Recording Academy. “We are excited to take this step forward with She Is The Music and help empower the next generation of female leaders.”
“She Is The Music shares the same values as Leading Ladies of Entertainment: supporting women in the industry and inspiring future generations. We are excited to launch this mentorship program together and take an important step forward for the Latin music community. This is a perfect example of how women are working together to create positive change: today’s trailblazers guiding tomorrow’s leaders,” said Alexandra Lioutikoff, Co-Chair of the She Is The Music Latin Committee, Group President of Universal Music Publishing for Latin America and U.S. Latin, and Board Member of The Latin Recording Academy. Rebeca León, former Leading Ladies of Entertainment honoree and She Is The Music Board Member, added: “It’s incredibly fulfilling to connect with the new generation of aspiring female executives. These young ladies are sharper and smarter than ever!”
The Leading Ladies of Entertainment initiative was created six years ago to honor and recognize professional and socially conscious women within the arts and entertainment fields who have made significant contributions and inspired the next generation of female leaders.
