Latin GRAMMY^® Recipients To Be Revealed on Nov. 20 when The Biggest Night in Latin Music^®

MIAMI (Sept. 24, 2014) — The Latin Recording Academy^® today announced nominations for the 15th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards^® digitally via LatinGRAMMY.com and Twitter. Eduardo Cabra of Calle 13 leads the field with 11 nominations; Calle 13 garners nine nods; Andrés Castro earns eight; Tom Coyne receives seven; Julio Reyes Copello and Carlos Vives each receive six nominations; and Descemer Bueno and Enrique Iglesias net five nominations each. Artists vying for Best New Artist are Aneeka, Linda Briceño, Caloncho, Julio César, Pablo López, Miranda, Periko & Jessi León, Daniela Spalla, Juan Pablo Vega, and Mariana Vega. The 15th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards^®, set for Thursday, Nov. 20 at the MGM Grand Garden Area in Las Vegas, will be broadcast live on the Univision Network from 8– 11 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central). This year's Latin GRAMMY Awards process registered a record-breaking 10,000-plus submissions over a 12-month eligibility period (July 1, 2013 – June 30, 2014), and all members of The Latin Recording Academy were able to submit entries for consideration through an online entry process. Final ballots will be mailed on Oct. 1 to

the voting members of The Latin Recording Academy, and they are due back to the accounting firm of Deloitte by Oct. 22, when they will be tabulated and the results will be revealed on the Latin GRAMMY telecast. This year, for the third time, The Latin Recording Academy and Spotify will work together to offer voting members and all music fans the opportunity to listen to nominated music for the 15th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards. The nominations will be revealed Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 4 a.m. PT/7 a.m. ET with the launch of a video, which will allow Latin music fans around the world an opportunity to participate in the announcement, followed by a daylong promotion of social interaction during which the public is welcome to tweet exclusive congratulatory messages to nominated artists by using the official Latin GRAMMY hashtag #LatinGRAMMY. As previously announced, the 15th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will be broadcast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Thursday, Nov. 20, and will air in the United States on the Univision Network from 8 – 11 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central). This year marks the seventh time Latin music's most prestigious awards telecast will take place in Las Vegas and the first time from MGM Grand.

MIAMI (Sept. 9, 2014) Iconic singer songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat has been named the 2014 Latin Recording Academy^® Person of the Year. Chosen for his artistic and social accomplishments, as well as his contributions to Latin culture, Serrat will be honored with a star-studded tribute concert on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The celebration will feature songs from Serrat's catalog performed by an impressive array of notable artists and friends. A portion of the net proceeds from the gala will benefit the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation^TM — which provides scholarships, fellowships, grants, and educational programs. The prestigious event will precede the 15th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards^®, which will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be broadcast live on the Univision Network on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central. Serrat's impressive career resonates not only with fans, but also with fellow artists in the music community.

"Joan Manuel Serrat took Miguel Hernández's beautiful little poem 'Llego Con Tres Heridas (I Come With Three Wounds)' and turned it into an even more beautiful song, haunting in its simplicity." said GRAMMY^®-nominated singer songwriter Joan Baez. "I fell in love with the song and recorded it in 1974. I still sing it today."

"Joan Manuel has become a true symbol for freedom, coherence, quality, and perfect use of our language, and a reference that we all have in reaching our goals," said Latin GRAMMY and GRAMMY winner Shakira, a previous Person Of The Year honoree.  

A native of Barcelona, Spain, Serrat began playing music as a teenager and quickly developed a desire to write and perform. In 1965, while singing on Spanish radio Program "Radioscope" Serrat secured his first record deal. Within two years he went on to release two EPs, a full-length debut album, and gave his first live stage performance at the Palau de la Música Catalana — a concert that established him as one of the pioneers of the Nova Cançó movement in Spain's Catalonian region. As part of a generation of politically outspoken artists, Serrat is known for his strong political stances. He once refused to follow dictator Francisco Franco's orders to perform a song in Spanish, instead of his native Catalan, at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1968.

MIAMI (JANUARY 26, 2026) – The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation® hosted their Emerging Talent Intensive Program at Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade over the weekend. The immersive learning experience, presented by Coca-Cola, included a full day of activities which guided 50 aspiring teen music creators through curated, hands-on workshops focused on the music business, songwriting, performance and Latin percussion.

Guest panelists included Latin GRAMMY®-winning artist Natalia Ramírez who shared insights into the wide range of career possibilities within the music industry—from performance and production to marketing and tech—while also sharing practical advice from her own professional journey. The program continued with a presentation by Latin GRAMMY® nominee and Foundation alum Nicolás González, who guided the young creators through the foundations of songwriting and live performance, covering topics like lyric development, song structure and the art of storytelling through music. Rounding out the day, Foundation alum Alexis Soto, led a Latin percussion workshop, featuring a hands-on rhythm session. Each of the presentations included engaging Q&A sessions, with renowned journalist Jessica Rodriguez serving as the moderator, where the aspiring music creators were able to engage with the speakers and dived deeper into the respective workshops.

The Frost School of Music at the University of Miami and Gibson Gives return to award additional scholarships to gifted musicians

MIAMI (JANUARY 13, 2026)—The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation® announced two additional scholarships to be awarded in 2026 with the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami and Gibson Gives returning as supporters for the second consecutive year.

“We are proud to partner with Frost School of Music at the University of Miami—with special support from Serona Elton, Interim Vice Dean and Chair of its Music Industry Program—as well as Gibson Gives, and welcome them back as part of our roster of scholarship supporters,” said Raquel “Rocky” Egusquiza, Executive Director of the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation. “Together, we continue to support the next generation of Latin music creators.”

The scholarship details are as follows:

The Frost School of Music Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation Scholarship will be awarded to a minimum of one (1) exceptionally gifted musician, who has a passion for Latin music and has financial limitations, to complete a four-year bachelor’s degree at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami, one of the top music schools in the world. The value of the scholarship ranges between $32,000 to $250,000 and will cover tuition and wrap around services provided by the Foundation. This scholarship is open to students who have already applied for admission to the Frost School of Music starting in the fall of this year. Gibson Gives, the philanthropic division of the iconic instrument brand Gibson, will offer three (3) Tuition Assistance Scholarships awarded to talented students pursuing or starting a degree in music in the Fall 2026 semester. The scholarship will cover tuition costs not covered by other scholarships, with final award amount details provided to those selected to study at the music institution of their choice.
