MIAMI (Sept. 11 , 2014) — For the first time in Latin GRAMMY^® history, The Latin Recording Academy^® will announce nominees for the 15th Annual Latin GRAMMY Award^® online featuring various celebrities and incorporating music fans  on a global scale and will utilize social networking platform Twitter. The nominations will be revealed Wednesday, Sept. 24, at 4 a.m. PT/7 a.m. ET with the launch of a video, which will allow Latin music fans around the world an opportunity to participate in the announcement, followed by a daylong promotion of social interaction during which the public is welcome to tweet exclusive congratulatory messages to nominated artists by using the official Latin GRAMMY hashtag #LatinGRAMMY. The video, press release and full list of nominations will be available simultaneously on www.latingrammy.com. As previously announced, the 15th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards will be broadcast from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Thursday, Nov. 20, and will air in the United States on the Univision Network from 8 – 11 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central). This year marks the seventh time Latin music's most prestigious awards telecast will take place in Las Vegas and the first time from MGM Grand.

Since the annual Latin GRAMMY Awards debuted entirely in Spanish on Univision in 2005, the telecast has consistently earned significant ratings each year in the United States and is now seen in more than 100 countries around the world.  The Latin GRAMMYs have become Univision's most watched and highest-rated show while delivering outstanding social media results and engagement. Latin GRAMMY^® Recipients To Be Revealed on Nov. 20 when The Biggest Night in Latin Music^®

MIAMI (Sept. 24, 2014) — The Latin Recording Academy^® today announced nominations for the 15th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards^® digitally via LatinGRAMMY.com and Twitter. Eduardo Cabra of Calle 13 leads the field with 11 nominations; Calle 13 garners nine nods; Andrés Castro earns eight; Tom Coyne receives seven; Julio Reyes Copello and Carlos Vives each receive six nominations; and Descemer Bueno and Enrique Iglesias net five nominations each. Artists vying for Best New Artist are Aneeka, Linda Briceño, Caloncho, Julio César, Pablo López, Miranda, Periko & Jessi León, Daniela Spalla, Juan Pablo Vega, and Mariana Vega. The 15th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards^®, set for Thursday, Nov. 20 at the MGM Grand Garden Area in Las Vegas, will be broadcast live on the Univision Network from 8– 11 p.m. ET/PT (7 p.m. Central). This year's Latin GRAMMY Awards process registered a record-breaking 10,000-plus submissions over a 12-month eligibility period (July 1, 2013 – June 30, 2014), and all members of The Latin Recording Academy were able to submit entries for consideration through an online entry process. Final ballots will be mailed on Oct. 1 to

the voting members of The Latin Recording Academy, and they are due back to the accounting firm of Deloitte by Oct. 22, when they will be tabulated and the results will be revealed on the Latin GRAMMY telecast. This year, for the third time, The Latin Recording Academy and Spotify will work together to offer voting members and all music fans the opportunity to listen to nominated music for the 15th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards. MIAMI (Sept. 9, 2014) Iconic singer songwriter Joan Manuel Serrat has been named the 2014 Latin Recording Academy^® Person of the Year. Chosen for his artistic and social accomplishments, as well as his contributions to Latin culture, Serrat will be honored with a star-studded tribute concert on Wednesday, Nov. 19, at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The celebration will feature songs from Serrat's catalog performed by an impressive array of notable artists and friends. A portion of the net proceeds from the gala will benefit the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation^TM — which provides scholarships, fellowships, grants, and educational programs. The prestigious event will precede the 15th Annual Latin GRAMMY Awards^®, which will be held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be broadcast live on the Univision Network on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 8 p.m. Eastern/7 p.m. Central. Serrat's impressive career resonates not only with fans, but also with fellow artists in the music community.

"Joan Manuel Serrat took Miguel Hernández's beautiful little poem 'Llego Con Tres Heridas (I Come With Three Wounds)' and turned it into an even more beautiful song, haunting in its simplicity." said GRAMMY^®-nominated singer songwriter Joan Baez. "I fell in love with the song and recorded it in 1974. I still sing it today."

"Joan Manuel has become a true symbol for freedom, coherence, quality, and perfect use of our language, and a reference that we all have in reaching our goals," said Latin GRAMMY and GRAMMY winner Shakira, a previous Person Of The Year honoree.  

A native of Barcelona, Spain, Serrat began playing music as a teenager and quickly developed a desire to write and perform. In 1965, while singing on Spanish radio Program "Radioscope" Serrat secured his first record deal. Within two years he went on to release two EPs, a full-length debut album, and gave his first live stage performance at the Palau de la Música Catalana — a concert that established him as one of the pioneers of the Nova Cançó movement in Spain's Catalonian region. As part of a generation of politically outspoken artists, Serrat is known for his strong political stances. He once refused to follow dictator Francisco Franco's orders to perform a song in Spanish, instead of his native Catalan, at the Eurovision Song Contest in 1968.

The program, created nine years ago, honors and recognizes professional and socially conscious women in the arts and Latin entertainment fields who have made significant contributions and inspired future leaders.

This year’s honorees are:

MIAMI (AUGUST 13, 2025) — The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation® awarded the 2025 Warner Music Latina Scholarship to trumpeter Arlen Borrego Miranda during a special ceremony at the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. The ceremony, hosted by 2022 Prodigy Scholarship recipient Valentina García, featured a performance by Latin GRAMMY® and GRAMMY®-nominated artist Elena Rose, alongside scholarship recipients and alumni. The musical director for the evening was Latin GRAMMY and GRAMMY-winning producer, composer and conductor Carlos Fernando López, a triple graduate of the Frost School of Music. Additionally, 48 more scholarships were awarded to music students around the world.

Also known as the Prodigy Scholarship, the annual award supports music education and Latin music genres, and was sponsored by a record label for the first time in the Foundation’s history. The scholarship allows Borrego Miranda to pursue a bachelor's degree at Berklee College of Music starting this fall. In addition, it also supports the costs of tuition, room, board and wrap around services that include ongoing mentorship and learning opportunities provided in partnership with the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation. Previous sponsors include: Sebastián Yatra (2024), Nicky Jam (2023), Sofia Carson (2022), Juanes (2021), Julio Iglesias (2020), Emilio and Gloria Estefan (2019), Carlos Vives (2018), Miguel Bosé (2017), Juan Luis Guerra (2016) and Enrique Iglesias (2015).

Since its establishment in 2014, the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation has committed an extraordinary sum of more than $13.9 million in scholarships, grants, musical instruments and educational programs throughout the United States and Ibero-America.

“Each year we have the privilege and responsibility of reviewing and awarding scholarships made possible by the generosity of our donors,” said Raquel "Rocky" Egusquiza, Executive Director of the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation. “We are moved by the talented students and grateful to our partners who have enabled us to provide more than $1.3 million across 49 scholarships to music students worldwide, ensuring the rich legacy of Latin music.”

Additionally, the Foundation awarded the first Emerging Talent Scholarship, in partnership with Berklee College of Music, to saxophonist Aina López Pla. The Emerging Talent Scholarship covers a bachelor’s degree at Berklee, room and board, as well as a laptop and ongoing mentorship and learning opportunities provided in partnership with the Foundation.

The Foundation also announced the recipients of its Gifted Tuition Scholarships and Tuition Assistance Scholarships—with an additional 48 talented students from diverse backgrounds receiving the opportunity to pursue an education at some of the most prestigious music institutions in the world.

Gifted Tuition Scholarship Recipients:

Two (2) Gifted Tuition Scholarships of up to $120,000 each were awarded to students to cover tuition costs towards a four-year bachelor's degree in music, and wrap around services, starting this fall:

• Frost School of Music at the University of Miami awarded one scholarship to vocalist Irenda Arano Díaz to attend the elite music school.

• Gil Family Foundation awarded one scholarship to drummer Miguel Francisco Pie Gil to attend the school of his choice.

Tuition Assistance Scholarship Recipients:

In addition, 45 students each received the Tuition Assistance Scholarship, a one-time scholarship that ranges in value from $10,000 to up to $12,500 toward the tuition costs for the university or college of their choice and includes wrap around services provided by the Foundation.

For the second consecutive year, Gibson Gives, Gibson’s philanthropic division, sponsored three (3) Tuition Assistance Scholarships—awarded to students who study guitar as their principal instrument—and gifted a Gibson guitar to each of their respective scholarship recipients.

Further generating impact, AIE Sociedad de Artistas, Amazon Music, Bulova, Kraft Family Inc. and Open Society Foundations sponsored Tuition Assistance Scholarships. To view all scholarships awarded and their respective recipients, please refer to the chart below for additional details.
