Camilo has pledged to donate $1 from each ticket sold to support the Foundation in its mission to further education for future music makers
MIAMI (MaY 26, 2022) — The Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation® is pleased to announce Camilo’s pledge to donate $1 from each ticket sale for his upcoming "DE ADENTRO PA AFUERA" North American tour to support the Foundation in its efforts to further the education of music makers around the world through scholarships, grants and music education programs.
“We are grateful to have the support of artists like Camilo, who have built successful careers in the music industry and are now paying it forward,” said Manuel Abud, CEO of The Latin Recording Academy®. “Along with the Foundation, I am proud to witness talent come full circle and serve in partnership with us, to pave the way for their peers to learn, grow and further solidify the future of Latin music for generations to come.”
“I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to support the artistic and creative development of future generations of Latin artists. It makes me incredibly happy because, as these artists grow and have the educational tools for their advancement, we are investing in the future of our sound,” said Camilo. “There is much more talent than there are opportunities in the Latin world, and it moves me to bridge the gap that divides one from the other.”
Camilo has been an avid supporter of the Latin GRAMMY Cultural Foundation, and most recently he participated in a Latin GRAMMY In The Schools™ educational program in Miami in 2021. These events inform and connect music students with professionals in the Latin music industry, and support educational music departments that have financial limitations. The Foundation invites artists, professional musicians and sound engineers to visit middle and high schools, universities or music education institutions to share their personal stories and experiences with students that highlight the effort it takes to overcome career obstacles. The goal is for students to learn to optimize the educational opportunities presented to them, giving them an advantage and strong academic preparation to be able to compete in the music industry.
With this gift from Camilo, the Foundation would like to motivate other artists to help forge tomorrow's music makers and give back to the communities that support them.
