The Latin Recording Academy® Statement about Olga Guillot

"It is with great sadness that The Latin Recording Academy says goodbye to an extraordinary singer, Olga Guillot. A 2007 Latin Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Guillot was an exceptionally talented performer with a powerful, sultry voice and a flair for the dramatic, which earned her the title "Reina del Bolero"(Queen of the Bolero) in a career of hits and remarkable achievements that spanned nearly seven decades.

The passing of Olga de Cuba leaves an enormous void in the world of Ibero-American music. She was a true artist and an incredible singer and her legacy will live on for generations. We offer our heartfelt condolences to her family and all her admirers around the world."
