"The Latin Recording Academy expresses its sorrow after the passing of Paulo Moura, a virtuoso clarinetist whose diverse playing soared through an eclectic range of Brazilian jazz, folk, and orchestral compositions.

 

A Latin GRAMMY® winner at our very first awards telecast in 2000 for Best Brazilian Roots/Regional Album, Moura enjoyed a rich, dynamic career that will continue to inspire people for generations to come.Our deepest condolences extend to his family, friends, the great country of Brazil and music lovers all over the world who have lost a brilliant musician."
