To the 11th Annual Latin Grammy Awards ceremony!

It’s May 2010 and, for the eleventh consecutive time,  the process to register product in the almost 50 categories that constitute the fields recognized by the members of the Latin Recording Academy® has started.

For this 11th Annual Latin Grammy Awards, for the first time and as a trial run looking to speed up the process and make it more efficient, we invited some participants to register their product online. We are pleased to report that this first test has been a success. We expect that for our 12th or 13th Awards, this system will be available to all our membership.

On other news, and after some negotiation, we are pleased to announce that  we have reached an agreement with our television partners, UNIVISION,and we will continue to work together through the 13th Annual Latin Grammy Awards.

Also, in 2010, we have decided to expand and energize our web presence.

We want our page to be the forum in which the Latin Recording Academy informs its membership the decisions that may affect the organization’s mission and work.

But we also want to develop a space in which members and friends of the Latin Recording Academy could learn more about all the areas that concern us including education, business, advocacy and technology.

With this, our only agenda is to consolidate the role of the Latin Recording Academy as a reference and resource center for all those interested in Latin music.

These efforts will be complemented by a newsletter that will be send out  to our membership to keep them informed about specific issues concerning Latin Recording Academy’s events and programs, including the nomination process and the award ceremony.

The Latin Recording Academy is very active, and we want to keep growing for the advancement of Iberoamerican music.

We owe it to our music.
